Mandatory Credit: Paul Rutherford-Imagn Images The New England Revolution are set to appoint Marko Mitrovic as their next head coach, multiple reports said on Monday.
The hiring would end a search that began in September after the dismissal of Caleb Porter.
Mitrovic, 47, most recently coached the United States at both the Under-20 World Cup and the 2024 Olympic men's tournament, leading the U.S. to quarterfinal appearances in each competition.
He previously worked within the U.S. youth coaching structure and served as an assistant at Chicago Fire, Reading and with Serbia's youth teams, including the squad that won the 2015 U-20 World Cup.
Former Vancouver manager Vanni Sartini and ex-Austin FC coach Josh Wolff were also finalists for the Revolution role, according to The Athletic.
Pablo Moreira served as interim head coach for the remainder of the season after the firing of Porter. New England finished 11th in the Eastern Conference with a record of 9-16-9 (36 points).
