Reports: RHP Nick Martinez, Rays agree to 1-year deal

Per MLB.com, the veteran swingman's deal is for $13 million.
Martinez, 35, was 11-14 with a 4.45 ERA in 40 games (26 starts) last season with the Cincinnati Reds. He struck out 116 over a career-high 165 2/3 innings to help the Reds reach the postseason for the first time since 2020.
Over eight seasons with the Texas Rangers (2014-17), San Diego Padres (2022-23) and Reds (2024-25), Martinez is 48-59 with a 4.16 ERA in 280 games (129 starts), with a 1.302 WHIP in 940 innings.
Martinez spent four seasons in Nippon Professional Baseball from 2018-21 with the Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters and Fukuoka Softbank Hawks.
