RHP Jordan Hicks returns to White Sox from injured list

Mandatory Credit: Scott Marshall-Imagn Images The Chicago White Sox reinstated right-hander Jordan Hicks from the 15-day injured list on Sunday ahead of their series finale with the Detroit Tigers.
In a corresponding move, right-hander Tyler Davis was optioned to Triple-A Charlotte.
Hicks, 29, is in his first season with the White Sox and has a 0-1 record, one save and three holds and a 5.60 ERA in 20 relief appearances this season. He had been on the injured list on May 23 (retroactive to May 21) with a right lat strain.
On a rehab assignment at Charlotte, Hicks appeared briefly in three games and was 0-1 with a 10.13 ERA. He gave up three runs on three hits and two walks over 2 2/3 innings.
The White Sox called on Davis, a 27-year-old rookie, in relief 22 times this season. He is 2-3 with a 4.63 ERA, allowing 12 earned runs in 23 1/3 innings. Opponents are batting just .198 against him (16-for-81).
