Senators complete four-year extension with D Jordan Spence

Mandatory Credit: Marc DesRosiers-IMAGN Images Restricted free agent defenseman Jordan Spence signed a four-year, $20 million extension with the Ottawa Senators, the team announced Friday.
Spence, 25, recorded a career-best 31 points (seven goals, 24 assists) and a plus-15 rating in 73 games last season with the Senators. He is coming off a two-year, $3 million contract.
The Senators acquired Spence from the Los Angeles Kings 12 months ago.
"Jordan was an excellent addition to our hockey club and proved to be a valuable asset on our blue line and stepped up when it counted last season," Ottawa general manager Steve Staios said in a news release. "We're excited to have him as part of our core group."
Spence has totaled 92 points (15 goals, 77 assists) and a plus-44 rating in 253 career games with the Los Angeles Kings and Senators. He has one goal and one assist in 17 career playoff games.
The Australia native was selected by the Kings in the fourth round of the 2019 NHL Draft.
