Shaq Thompson Update: Shaq Has An At-Bat Where He Doesn't Strike Out!
Red Sox prospect and UW football recruit Shaq Thompson is putting together one of the all-time great stat sheets. Coming into today, Thompson was 0-for-37, with 36 strikeouts in his short career. (He'll start at safety for the Huskies in the fall.) We're committed to providing you the latest Shaq Thompson updates.
In today's game against the GCL Twins, Shaq Thompson struck out in his first at-bat. In his second at-bat, according to a fan at the game, Thompson "managed a sharp line out to right. He was greeted with high fives at the dugout."
(Thompson is right-handed, so that flyout to right was likely the result of him barely getting around on the pitch.)
Thompson was removed for a defensive replacement in the seventh inning. He is now 0-for-39, with just 37 strikeouts. Progress!
