Short White Guy Is On His Way To The College Dunk Contest
Jacob Tucker's strategy of putting his dunk reel on YouTube has paid off, with two million views and the attention of the NCAA. But the 5'11" Tucker ("probably 5'10½"," he says) will need to take down one more small-school dunker to get into the contest.
Rico Cunningham plays for the Lee University Flames, who, in the NAIA are a step down from even Tucker's DIII Illinois College Blueboys. In response to Tucker's video going viral, Cunningham put together his own greatest hits.
So now the two face off in that truly American form of competition: fan voting. Starting next week, people can cast votes for their favorite, with the winner moving on to the College Dunk Contest. May the best dunker dunk.
