Star guard Kelsey Plum sprained an ankle during practice and will be re-evaluated in one week, the Los Angeles Sparks announced Tuesday.

Plum has averaged 26.8 points through the first six games of the season, leading the WNBA. She had a season-high 38 on Saturday in a 101-95 win over her former team, the Las Vegas Aces.

The injury comes in a lighter part of the Sparks' schedule. She will miss games Friday and Saturday at Washington and Connecticut; then the Sparks return home June 2 to face the Aces.

Plum, 31, is in her ninth NBA season and her second with the Sparks after the San Antonio Stars/Aces franchise made her the No. 1 overall pick in 2017.

Plum won two championships with the Aces and was the Sixth Player of the Year in 2021. She earned four straight All-Star nods from 2022-25, which includes last year in her first season with Los Angeles.

In 284 career games (242 starts), Plum has averaged 15.4 points, 4.3 assists and 2.6 rebounds per contest.
