Mandatory Credit: Allan Henry-Imagn Images San Antonio guard Dylan Harper, the No. 2 pick in this year's draft, sustained a left calf injury and exited in the second quarter of the Spurs' 130-118 loss to the host Phoenix Suns on Sunday night.
Harper, 19, appeared to be injured while trying to defend when the Suns' Nick Richards dunked with 5:02 left before halftime. Harper walked to the bench and went to the locker room with medical personnel and general manager Brian Wright. San Antonio, which went on to lose for the first time in six games this season, announced at halftime that he was out for the remainder of the contest.
He finished with 12 points on 5-of-8 shooting with 2-for-2 from the free-throw line and one offensive rebound in 11 minutes.
The Spurs selected Harper with the second overall pick of the draft out of Rutgers.
He entered Sunday averaging 14.4 points, 4.6 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 25.8 minutes in five games as a reserve.
