Mandatory Credit: Jerome Miron-Imagn Images The Vegas Golden Knights will be the Dallas Stars' opponent for the previously announced 2027 Stadium Series game at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, the NHL announced Thursday.
The game will be played on Feb. 20 and broadcast on ABC at the retractable-roof venue which can have a capacity of over 100,000 when including standing-room-only tickets.
The two teams have built an important rivalry in the short time since Vegas started as an expansion team in 2017-18. The Stars knocked out the Golden Knights 4-1 in the 2019-20 Western Conference Finals. Vegas got revenge with a 4-2 series win in the conference finals three years later on the way to its Stanley Cup championship and also beat Dallas in seven games in the first round of the playoffs the following season.
It was announced last November that Dallas would be hosting its second outdoor game. The Stars previously hosted the Nashville Predators in the 2020 Winter Classic at Cotton Bowl Stadium, winning 4-2 in their only Winter Classic appearance.
Vegas is 0-2 in outdoor games all-time, losing 3-2 to Colorado at Lake Tahoe in 2021 and 3-0 to host Seattle in 2024.
