The "Stephen vs. Sabrina" contest will be televised on TNT and pit the NBA's all-time leader in 3-pointers made against the New York Liberty star, who shot 44.8 percent from long distance last season.
Ionescu, 26, won the WNBA's 3-point contest in 2023 with a record 37 points. Curry, 35, is a two-time winner of the NBA's 3-point contest, victorious in 2015 and 2021. The Golden State Warriors star is a career 42.6 percent shooter from beyond the arc.
Curry will shoot from the NBA 3-point line with standard league basketballs, while Ionescu will take aim from the WNBA 3-point line with WNBA basketballs.
Curry is a nine-time NBA All-Star but wasn't voted into the starting lineup for this year's game, which will be played Feb. 18. He likely will be named as a reserve.
On the season, Curry is averaging 27.3 points per game and leads the league in both 3-point attempts (464) and shots made (187) for an average of 40.3 percent.
In the 2023 season, Ionescu averaged 17.0 points per game and made 128 of her 286 attempts from 3-point range.
