Texas, Oklahoma earn top seeds in NCAA softball bracket

Oklahoma won 5-1. Texas received the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA Division I Softball Championship when the selection committee revealed its 64-team field on Sunday.
Right behind Texas (47-7) is rival Oklahoma, the three-time reigning champion, as the No. 2 seed. The Sooners (49-6) beat the Longhorns 5-1 in the Big 12 championship game Saturday to conclude both teams' final season in the conference.
Texas and Oklahoma will host two of the 16 four-team regionals beginning Friday. The 16 winners will play in the super regionals between May 23-26, leaving eight teams to advance to the Women's College World Series.
Texas will face Siena in its first game in the regional in Austin, Texas. Northwestern and Saint Francis (PA) were also sent to Austin. Oklahoma opens against Cleveland State, with Oregon and Boston University also heading to Norman, Okla.
