The Blues And Blackhawks Scored 10 Damn Goals In Two Periods
We get emails. Today’s email, from Mikhail, is a perfectly acceptable one:
The Blues and Blackhawks played an absolutely nuts game last night. 5-2 Chicago after 1, 5-5 after 2, and 6-5 Blues at the end of an appropriately exhilarating 3v3 OT. Please write about that instead of how fat Phil Kessel is. PLEASE. COME ON.
Okay, Mikhail, pay attention. Given the opportunity, we will always write about someone calling Phil Kessel a “fucking fat fuck.” That won’t change. However, I looked at the highlights of this game, which I didn’t watch, and you’re totally right. This game was a smorgasbord of scoring.
The Blues and Blackhawks combined for seven goals in the first period, with Chicago holding a 5-2 lead at the end, but St. Louis tied it up with three straight goals in the second. Ten damn goals in two periods. There weren’t any goals in the third, but Blues winger Vladimir Tarasenko wristed in the winner in 3-on-3 overtime for the 6-5 win. The overtime goal is in the above video, but here’s a separate video with replay:
The Blues made the good type of NHL history:
The Blackhawks did not:
Thanks, Mikhail.
