The Canadiens' Automated Twitter Promotion Has Gone Horribly Awry
I thought we’d already learned our lesson here. Just like the New England Patriots, the Montreal Canadiens decided to celebrate reaching one million followers on Twitter by creating custom avatar jerseys with Twitter handles. But the Canadiens were so lazy that they didn’t even bother to filter out swear words—not that a filter would’ve stopped internet trolls—and now they’re sending out a multitude of very embarrassing tweets.
Update (11:35 p.m.): The Canadiens are finally starting to take some of the tweets down. Good luck finding them all!
