The Volunteers and Tigers Are Delivering At FedEx
I'm back from the Wizards game and I'm actually in a good mood because they won. And hey, the Bobcats minus Gerald Wallace are tough! Since I've been back I've had a chance to catch up on this 1 vs. 2 matchup and frankly, it's even better than the Wizards and Bobcats. The action has been high paced and the momentum seems to shift every few possessions. Bruce Pearl is fully clothed and John Calipari hasn't fought a senior citizen but the game has a true post-season atmosphere. Despite what some people tell you, regular season college basketball is certainly worth a damn. Follow along with the action after the jump...
Don't worry, I'm recording the fight.
-Tennessee is holding on to the lead but Derrick Rose won't be denied, it's just how he rolls. The Vols lead 63-49.
-Uh-oh, the fight is underway. Any spoilers in the comments will result in execution.
-Bruce Pearl is definitely wearing makeup.
-Lofton is fairly ridiculous, but Memphis keeps answering. It's like a heavyweight title fight! And Peyton's in the house.
-Sorry, that was Dickie V talking.
-The girlfriend just said, "this whole sequence is just balls."
-JP Prince certainly looked like a female basketball player at Arizona.
-Memphis just shot an air-ball with a chance to take the lead, but they followed up with a stop. Allen is going to the line down by a point with 4:12 remaining.
-Memphis leads by a point, but they still can't shoot free throws woth a damn. Under three minutes remain.
-I swear to God, Dickie V just likened basketball recruiting to the underground railroad.
-A huge basket for CDR Chris Douglas-Roberts but he came out of it with a gimpy ankle. Memphis fans are chanting something in that adorable southern dialect that nobody can actually understand. Memphis leads 61-60 with under two minutes to play.
-Joey Dorsey, still a bit of a tool.
-This one's all but over, Tennessee regained the lead 64-62 and now it's there ball with 2.9 seconds to play. Lofton can end it here.
-On to the boxing! I'll be back after the fight.
