Instead, the Rockies and Tigers will play once on Wednesday as scheduled and a traditional doubleheader on Thursday afternoon that will begin at 1:10 p.m. local time. Game 2 will start about 30 minutes after the end of Game 1.
The Tigers have won four of their past five games and have the best record in the American League at 22-13; the Rockies have dropped three straight and own the worst record in the majors at 6-28.
Colorado's Chase Dollander (2-3, 6.48 ERA) was scheduled to face Detroit's Jackson Jobe (2-0, 3.38) in a battle of rookie right-handers Tuesday. The updated pitching plans for the series were not yet known.
