Today In "Bryce Harper Is A No-Good Hothead"
Bryce Harper is good at baseball and he knows it. He has a reputation as a bit of a whippersnapper, though, and after getting ejected last night for making a gesture at an ump, that rep will continue to grow.
In the fifth inning of the College of Southern Nevada's JUCO playoff game against San Jacinto, Harper was called out on a questionable third strike. In response, Harper kicked up some dirt with his bat and then drew a line, giving the ump an impromptu lesson on the dimensions of the strike zone. He was immediately ejected and is now suspended for the next two games (he had another ejection earlier in the season, and in JUCO ball two ejections earns a two-game suspension), most likely bringing an end to maybe the most illustrious JUCO baseball career ever.
This now raises all sorts of questions for the Nationals, foremost of which is, "Just how little do we give a shit about a 17-year-old's attitude?"
