Trae Young's late 3-pointer lifts Hawks past Lakers in OT

Mandatory Credit: Brett Davis-Imagn Images Trae Young hit a go-ahead 3-pointer with 7.4 seconds left in overtime, helping the Atlanta Hawks beat the visiting Los Angeles Lakers 134-132 on Friday.
Young had 31 points and 20 assists, while De'Andre Hunter scored 26 off the bench, as Atlanta won its sixth straight. Bogdan Bogdanovic scored 20, Onyeka Okongwu had 15, while Jalen Johnson chipped in 12 points and 10 rebounds. Zaccharie Risacher and Dyson Daniels each added 11.
LeBron James led Los Angeles with 39 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds, while Anthony Davis tallied 38 points, 10 boards and eight assists. Dalton Knecht had 14, followed by Rui Hachimura and Gabe Vincent, who each had 12. The Lakers dropped their third straight.
With 1:44 left in overtime, Vincent's 3-pointer gave Los Angeles a 130-127 lead. Daniels and Davis then traded baskets, before Johnson's two free throws pulled Atlanta within one with 36.9 seconds left. After Young's game-winning triple, James' 3-pointer rimmed out as time expired.
With the score tied at 64 at halftime, Young opened the third quarter with a layup, before Knecht's triple sparked an 11-0 Lakers' scoring run.
Trailing by nine, the Hawks then pulled within a point as Young's 3-pointer capped an 8-0 run with 6:58 left in the third quarter. After Knecht's layup pushed the Lakers lead to 85-82, Young's floater was followed by Bogdanovic's 3-pointer that swung the lead back to Atlanta.
Russell hit a deep 3-pointer to give Los Angeles a 97-92 lead with 29.4 seconds left in the third, before Young's free throws trimmed Atlanta's deficit to three entering the final quarter.
An 11-5 Atlanta run to start the fourth quarter was capped with Bogdanovic's 3-pointer, forcing a Lakers' timeout with 7:58 left. After another Bogdanovic triple gave Atlanta a 108-104 lead, Davis' mid-range jumper and James' 3-pointer flipped the lead back to the Lakers at the 4:12 mark.
Davis' dunk gave the Lakers a 117-116 lead with 1:14 left, before Hunter's 3-pointer on the ensuing possession. James' layup with 12 seconds remaining sent the game to overtime.
Trailing 29-26 after the first quarter, Atlanta began the second with a 12-5 scoring run, punctuated with three straight baskets from Okongwu.
Back-to-back baskets from Davis gave the Lakers a 61-59 lead with 51.3 seconds left in the first half. Johnson's floater with 3.3 seconds remaining knotted the halftime score at 64.
