Twins claim utility player Vidal Brujan off waivers from Braves

In a corresponding move, the Twins designated catcher/infielder Mickey Gasper for assignment.
Brujan, who turns 28 on Feb. 9, has played every position except catcher in his major league career.
The native of the Dominican Republic batted .253 (22-for-87) for three teams last season with eight RBIs and a .305 on-base percentage. He played in 36 games for the Chicago Cubs, one for the Baltimore Orioles and 23 for the Braves.
A former top-50 prospect in the Tampa Bay Rays organization, Brujan is a career .199 hitter with five home runs and 48 RBIs in 261 games for the Rays (2021-23), Miami Marlins (2024), Cubs, Orioles and Braves.
Gasper, 30, has played catcher, second base, first base and left field as well as designated hitter. He hit .158 (15-for-95) with two homers and 11 RBIs in 45 games last season and is a career .133 hitter in 58 games (2024-25).
