Two University of Texas Football Players Accused Of Sexually Assaulting A Woman [UPDATED]
The players have neither been arrested nor charged with a crime, and police have not released their names. An investigation is taking place, but here are the details from KENS in San Antonio, where the Longhorns are staying as they prepare for Saturday's Alamo Bowl game against Oregon State:
Police were called at 2:48 a.m. Friday to the Holiday Inn Riverwalk in the 200 block of North St. Mary.
A woman told police she met two UT players out partying overnight and invited them back to her room at the Holiday Inn. She later made the allegations of sexual assault to police.
Officers said University of Texas football coaches have been notified of the situation. The players have had initial talks with police and were expected to be further questioned by police sexual assault detectives Friday morning.
Update (12:08 p.m.): Texas coach Mack Brown just said at his press conference that two players have been sent home for violating team rules. He did not identify them.
Update (12:21 p.m.): Brown would not say if the two players were starters. He also did not answer a question about whether the team has a curfew.
Update (3:05 p.m.): The police report can be read here.
