UCLA No. 1 overall seed as NCAA baseball regionals set

Mandatory Credit: Steven Branscombe-Imagn Images UCLA was named top overall seed of the 2026 NCAA Division I Baseball Championship on Monday, with 12 teams from the SEC named to the 64-team field.
The tournament begins Friday at 16 regional sites, all hosted by the top 16 seeded teams in the field.
The Bruins went 51-6 during the regular season and finished in first place in the Big Ten Conference, as well as winning the Big Ten tournament.
Georgia Tech (48-9) is the second overall seed, followed by Georgia (46-12), Auburn (38-19), North Carolina (45-11-1), Texas (40-13), Alabama (37-19), Florida (39-19), Southern Mississippi (44-15), Florida State (38-17), Oregon (40-16), Texas A&M (39-14), Nebraska (42-15), Mississippi State (40-17), Kansas (42-16), and West Virginia (39-14).
The SEC not only earned 12 spots in the overall field, the conference has five of the top eight overall seeds.
All 16 regional sites will have a four-team round robin to decide 16 Super Regional qualifiers who will move on to play at eight different sites. Super Regional games are scheduled to begin June 5.
The eight-team Men's College World Series begins June 12 at Omaha, Neb.
Defending champion LSU did not earn a spot in the 64-team field after finishing the regular-season with a 30-28 record.
