Weibo Gaming, Team Liquid earn Swiss Stage wins at Worlds

Weibo Gaming and Team Liquid both rallied from Swiss Stage deficits on Saturday at the 2024 League of Legends World Championship in Berlin.
Fnatic opened with a 36-minute victory on red, but Weibo Gaming bounced back with 29- and 26-minute wins on green in a Round 4 Low Match.
In another Round 4 Low Match, GAM Esports posted a victory in the opening game, then dropped two straight to Team Liquid.
The Swiss Stage format of the $2.225 million event sorted 16 teams into eight Round 1 matches, with Rounds 2 through 5 seeded based on win-loss record. Teams that reach three wins advance to the Knockout Stage, while teams that wind up with three losses are eliminated.
Through Saturday, the teams that have advanced to the Knockout Stage are Gen.G Esports, LNG Esports, Hanwha Life Esports, T1 and Top Esports. The eliminated teams so far are Fnatic, GAM Esports, paIN Gaming, MAD Lions KOI and PSG Talon.
Elimination and advancement matches are best-of-three, while all others are best-of-one.
The winners of Sunday's Round 5 Matches will advance to the Knockout Round and the losers will be eliminated. The Knockout Round begins Oct. 17.
