Your NFL Early Games Open Thread
We're going to be doing some hot open thread action today, so let's get all experimental together. A preview of all the important story lines this afternoon is provided for your edification. Enjoy the games and chat it up down below!
Atlanta at Chicago (FOX): Huuuge bummer, guys: Chicago GM Jerry Angelo was totally going to get Cutler a decent wide receiver as a wedding gift. Meanwhile, Matt Ryan already had a pretty solid set of toys and now gets to play with Julio Jones, too. Poor Jay, always the bridesmaid.
Cincinnati at Cleveland (CBS): NFL Fans informed the League that Goodell "made decisions that undermine the integrity of the game and basic human decency." These included the NFL's failure to cooperate with the Fans in its scheduling of the Ohio State Shit Bowl, and airing this travesty in violation of FCC rules. There's no link for this one. You're welcome.
Buffalo at Kansas City (CBS): If I'm reading this correctly, Shawne Merriman took steroids for his brain while doing MMA which will give him more endurance to make plays all over the field. If I'm reading it incorrectly, well....Jamaal Charles is playing in this game so there should be, like, 75 touchdowns.
Philadelphia at St. Louis (FOX): The Eagles were clearly the winners of the off-season free agency free-for-all. New additions Michael Keaton, Christopher Lloyd, Peter Boyle and Vince Young look to remind the young Sam Bradford just who's running the asylum.
Detroit at Tampa Bay (FOX): This is the other Fox game. It will be shown in Michigan and portions of Florida.
Tennessee at Jacksonville (CBS): Thanks to the recent release of David Garrard (minutes after he was introduced as Jacksonville's starting QB at a season kickoff "luncheon"), this game is sort of interesting. How will Chris Johnson perform after getting paid? Jeff Fisher facial hair: goatee or mustache? Will Luke McCown die? We'll soon find out the answers to all these questions.
Pittsburgh at Baltimore (CBS): FOOTBALL. IN. THE. NATIONAL. FOOTBALL. LEAGUE. IS PHYSICAL. THESE TWO TEAMS WILL HIT. YOU. IN. THE. MOUTH.
Indianapolis at Houston (CBS): It's now or never for the Houston Texans. The division is a disaster and the Texans are primed to take over and dominate. Anxious to see how their secondary blows it this time. As for the Colts and their fans: No one likes you. You deserved this.
