Gallen (2-0) gave up three hits and three walks and struck out six in his second career start against New York. He also blanked the Yankees on three hits over six innings in a win last September.
Eugenio Suarez and Gabriel Moreno also had run-scoring singles for Arizona. Walker, Jake McCarthy and Geraldo Perdomo also had two hits apiece as the Diamondbacks racked up 12 overall.
New York had three hits and only one runner reached second base — Anthony Volpe in the second inning.
Nestor Cortes (0-1) allowed three runs and eight hits over five innings for New York. He struck out two and walked two.
Scott McGough, Ryan Thompson and Bryce Jarvis each pitched a hitless inning of relief for the Diamondbacks.

Marte hit a leadoff double and Alexander followed with a run-scoring single. One out later, Walker singled to put runners on the corners, and Suarez and Moreno each followed with RBI singles.
The Diamondbacks added on in the seventh. It started with Marte reaching on an infield single and continuing to third on a throwing error by New York third baseman Oswaldo Cabrera. Alexander followed with a walk off Victor Gonzalez.
Jake Cousins entered and retired Lourdes Gurriel Jr. on a pop fly. Walker came up and blasted a 1-2 sinker 424 feet well into the seats in left field to make it 6-0. It was his third homer of the season.
Perdomo scored on a wild pitch by Cousins in the eighth.
