2014 Deadspin Hall Of Fame Nominee: Roger Goodell
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell showed his ass to everyone this year. The leak of surveillance footage showing Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice knocking out his then-fiancée in an elevator led to Goodell, who'd spent years carefully cultivating a reputation for square-jawed competence, standing revealed for all to see as a stooge and a bumbling fool. We happily watched this fall as the NFL's self-appointed status as moral leader crumbled while Goodell defended himself against charges that he'd led a Nixonian cover-up by claiming that he was (and is) an idiot.
Should Roger Goodell be in the Deadspin Hall of Fame? Cast your vote by 11:59 p.m. ET Sunday, Jan. 11, and keep in mind that Goodell needs 75 percent of the "Yes" vote to be inducted.
