Orlando City receives $600,000 in 2026, $400,000 in 2027 and $250,000 in 2027-28, plus up to an additional $1.15 million if McGuire reaches certain performance-based metrics.
The Lions also retain a sell-on percentage in the event of a future transfer for McGuire, 25, who has recorded two goals and one assist in 11 matches (four starts) this season.
"Duncan has meant a great deal to this club since the day he arrived in Orlando," Orlando City general manager and sporting director Ricardo Moreira said. "His resilience, determination and willingness to fight through challenges both on and off the field have earned the respect of everyone throughout our organization.
"He has played a major role in our success over the last several years, and when the opportunity arose, we wanted to ensure it was a move that made sense for both Duncan and the Club. We're grateful for everything he has given to Orlando City and wish him and his family nothing but success in this next chapter."
Drafted sixth overall in 2023, McGuire broke onto the MLS scene with 14 goals that year and added 10 more in 2024 before missing time in 2025 due to surgeries on both shoulders. He has 29 goals and eight assists in 85 career matches (45 starts).
"Duncan is a young striker who has demonstrated an ability to score goals consistently and affect games in the final third," Dynamo president of soccer Pat Onstad said. "He has gained valuable experience for his age, and we believe he has the qualities and mentality to continue improving within our environment. We are pleased to add him to the group and look forward to his contributions as we continue our climb up the table in preparation for the playoffs."
