Mets-Rockies Last Night Was Really, Really Snowed Out
It's April, right? Like, the month in which the crocuses pop up and the skies yield warm water every 20 minutes or so? The month in which, save for a few chilly nights, baseball is played at its proper temperatures, before summer stickiness sets in?
No one apparently told the weather gods who have followed the Mets around the country on their current road trip. The Mets played Friday night in Minnesota in the snow, with the temperature 34 degrees at first pitch. Saturday afternoon the snow was gone, and the temperature had moved to an altogether seasonable 35 degrees. Sunday, more snow, game postponed.
And then yesterday: the photo you see above! The Mets were in Colorado, with a scheduled evening start. Then Thor dumped four inches of snow on them. So warmups turned into this:
I don't really know what sport this is, but it looks fun. Mets and Rockies have a day-night doubleheader today.
