The 34-year-old center back is under contract with the defending MLS Cup champions through 2026.
Jorgensen has recorded 34 goals and 14 assists in 520 matches across many of Europe's top leagues since 2007.
"We are thrilled to welcome Zanka to the LA Galaxy," general manager Will Kuntz said. "Zanka is a five-time Danish League and Danish Cup champion, has experience in the English Premier League and has represented Denmark in over 30 matches including at the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
"Zanka's quality and experience will be a great addition to our group as we prepare to participate in multiple competitions in the upcoming season."
Jorgensen spent time in the English Premier League (Huddersfield Town, Brentford), Germany's Bundesliga (Fortuna Dusseldorf), the Dutch Eredivisie (PSV Eindhoven) and the Turkish Super Lig (Fenerbahce) in addition to his most recent stint in the Belgian Pro League.
