Heat set team mark with 83-point 2nd half, rout Pacers

Mandatory Credit: Sam Navarro-Imagn Images Jaime Jaquez Jr. and Andrew Wiggins scored 28 points apiece as the Miami Heat pulled away with a dominant fourth quarter to beat the visiting Indiana Pacers 140-116 on Saturday.
Norman Powell had 23 points, Nikola Jovic scored 19 and Pelle Larsson added 16 for Miami, which led 98-94 at the end of the third quarter before outscoring the Pacers 44-22 in the fourth. Kel'el Ware contributed 15 points and seven rebounds.
Miami scored a franchise-record 83 points in the second half and won its second straight following a three-game losing streak. The Heat played without Bam Adebayo (back soreness) and guard Tyler Herro (right big toe contusion).
Pascal Siakam led Indiana with four 3-pointers and 33 points. Bennedict Mathurin scored 23 of his 25 points in the second half, Andrew Nembhard had 15 points and a career-high 16 assists, and Jay Huff had 11 points.
Indiana committed a season-high 25 turnovers en route to its eighth straight loss.
The game featured 12 ties and 19 lead changes before Miami took control in the fourth quarter. The Heat began the fourth period on a 24-12 run and led 135-112 after Powell scored with 3:51 left.
Miami shot 65.4% from the field and 4 of 9 (44.4%) from 3-point range in the decisive fourth quarter.
The Heat led 29-28 at the end of the first quarter despite shooting 36.7% from the field and 3 of 11 (27.3%) from 3-point range.
The Pacers held a 60-59 advantage at the half after Siakam drilled a 3-pointer to close the second quarter.
Siakam had 24 points in the first half for Indiana, while Ware scored 13 for the Heat.
Jaquez had 11 points in the third quarter and scored at the buzzer to end the period and put Miami ahead 98-94.
Indiana forward Aaron Nesmith returned after missing six weeks with a sprained left knee and had nine points in 19 minutes off the bench.
