Lightning Shut Out Rangers In Game 5 To Take 3-2 Series Lead
Ben Bishop made 26 saves and the Tampa Bay Lightning rode their goalie to a 2-0 win over the New York Rangers on Sunday night.
The Lightning did all of their damage in the second period, with Valtteri Filppula and Steven Stamkos both scoring for Tampa Bay. Bishop had a rebound performance, bouncing back from a puck to the nuts and a combined 10 goals allowed the past two games to shut out the Rangers on Sunday. New York had four power plays in the first period and a half, but couldn’t capitalize with the man advantage.
Tampa Bay is now one win away from the Stanley Cup finals. Game 6 is Tuesday.
