Marlins acquire RHP Tyler Phillips from Phillies

In a corresponding move, the Marlins designated RHP Seth Martinez for assignment.
The Phillies DFA'd Phillips on Sunday.
Phillips, 27, went 4-1 with a 6.87 ERA in eight appearances (seven starts) with the Phillies in 2024. He made his major league debut on July 7.
He went 1-3 with a 7.59 ERA in seven appearances (one start) during spring training.
The Marlins selected Martinez, 30, off waivers twice in the last two months, the last time coming March 15. He appeared in 44 games in relief for the Houston Astros in 2024 and is 6-6 with two saves and a 3.93 ERA in 111 relief appearances over four seasons, all with the Astros.
