Mavericks sign F Naji Marshall to multi-year contract extension

Mandatory Credit: Jerome Miron-Imagn Images The Dallas Mavericks announced Sunday that they signed forward Naji Marshall to a multi-year contract extension, keeping one of their most versatile contributors in place following his best NBA season.
Dallas did not disclose financial details, but ESPN reported the fully guaranteed deal is worth $52.2 million over three years and runs through the 2029-30 season. Marshall had one year remaining on the three-year, $27 million contract he signed with the Mavericks in July 2024.
Marshall, 28, established career highs with 15.2 points, 3.3 assists, 1.1 steals and 29.5 minutes per game last season. He shot 51% from the field while appearing in 74 games, including 47 starts, and added 4.7 rebounds per contest.
"Naji has earned this opportunity through the way he approaches the game every day," Mavericks president Masai Ujiri said in a statement. "He is a competitive player who impacts winning in a variety of ways. His versatility, toughness and willingness to embrace every challenge make him an important part of what we're building."
Marshall has averaged 14.3 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3.1 assists while shooting 50.9% from the floor across 143 games (78 starts) over his two seasons with the Mavericks.
The former Xavier standout went undrafted in 2020 before spending his first four seasons with the New Orleans Pelicans. He owns career averages of 10.1 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 373 games.
