Now Hanging In The Barclays Center: Banners With NYC's Crime Stats
Some immortal names hang in the rafters of the Nets' new arena: Drazen Petrovic, Julius Erving, Buck Williams, 419 People Murdered In New York City In 2012. You know, the greats.
Today was Mayor Michael Bloomberg's state of the city address at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, and to fit in with local color, the city put up a few banners touting the decreased crime rate and other encouraging statistics, all in Nets black and white. I am sure the family members of the record-low number of homicide victims are honored.
