Injured while on loan with Liga Deportiva Alajuelense, Chacon will conduct his rehab — expected to last nine months — with Alajuelense in Costa Rica.
Chacon, 22, was loaned to Alajuelense in July after becoming the first Colorado Rapids 2 player to sign a first-team contract with the club.
Chacon first joined Rapids 2 in June 2022 from Costa Rican club C.S. Cartagines before rejoining Cartagines to prepare for last year's FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
