Raw Video Of A Marathon In North Korea Is Eerily Disquieting, Perfectly North Korean
Even though North Korea is going to blow the world up any day now, the country still hosted an international marathon as part of a national holiday celebrating the birth of its founder, Kim Il-sung.
“The ongoing sports tournaments make the country seethe with holiday atmosphere,” said the North Korean news agency KCNA.
Other festivities include a ten-day film festival and “outdoor dance parties”. There will also be a military parade, which analysts will watch carefully for signs of which missiles the North displays.
The event, called the Mangyongdae Prize International Marathon, started in Pyongyang and had approximately 600 participants.
