Ryan Braun's Appeal Is Successful, He Won't Serve PED Suspension
Tom Haudricourt of the , and thrown out the mandatory 50-game suspension for a positive drug test in October. It's the first time a failed test has been overruled at the MLB level, and it just so happens it's the reigning MVP.
Details are still trickling out, but Haudricourt notes that Braun did not contest the test results, but rather some aspect of the testing process itself. The three-man panel consisted of reps from the MLBPA, MLB, and the likely deciding vote, the independent Shyam Das, best known for handling every salary arbitration case..
