The Cavaliers And Heat Can't Make That Three-Point Goggle Sign In Brazil
You know that cool thing LeBron sometimes does after he hits a three-pointer when he connects his thumb and index finger so it's like a little circle, then holds it over his eye with the other three fingers up so it resembles a monocle to show, Hey, I made that three? When he and the Cavaliers play the Miami Heat in a preseason game in Rio de Janeiro on Saturday, he really shouldn't do that.
That's because in Brazil, three-finger gestures similar to that one can mean "fuck you" or "fuck off." And since the two teams are on an evangelical before the season starts at the end of the month, the NBA sent them a letter outlining everything they shouldn't do. Three-point goggles were on the list.
It seems very unreasonable that spectators would think one of the players would tell an entire nation to fuck off after hitting a bucket in a scrimmage, but I guess Adam Silver doesn't want to take any chances.
