Women's Top 25 roundup: No. 3 UCLA powers past No. 6 Oklahoma

Gianna Kneepkens scored seven of her 20 points in an 11-0 second-quarter surge that sparked No. 3 UCLA to a 73-59 nonconference win over No. 6 Oklahoma on Monday in Sacramento.

The Sooners (1-1) jumped on top 27-26 on a 3-pointer from Aaliyah Chavez before the game-changing sequence. Lauren Betts gave the lead back to UCLA (3-0) with a layup. Kneepkens followed with a layup and a 3-pointer, and after a hoop from teammate Angela Dugalic, she capped the surge with another basket for a 37-27 lead.

The Bruins led by five points at halftime and by 11 after three quarters. The margin never dipped below seven points in the fourth period. Dugalic wound up with 16 points and 15 rebounds, while Betts amassed nine points and 10 boards.

Oklahoma got 16 points from Payton Verhulst, 13 from Zya Vann and 11 from Chavez. Raegan Beers grabbed a team-high 14 rebounds to go with seven points.

No. 4 Texas 100, Louisiana 38

Kyla Oldacre hit 7 of 8 field-goal attempts and scored 19 points as the Longhorns blitzed the Ragin' Cajuns in Austin, Texas.

Justice Carlton put up 13 points for Texas (3-0), which also got 12 points from Rori Harmon, 11 from Aaliyah Crump and 10 from Teya Sidberry. Breya Cunningham finished with nine points and 14 rebounds for the Longhorns, who shot 59.1% from the floor

Louisiana (0-3) was limited to 26% shooting. Imani Daniel wound up with 17 points, the lone Ragin' Cajun to score in double figures.

No. 19 Vanderbilt 96, Furman 48

Eleven Commodores led by Ndjakalenga Mwenentanda scored in a blowout win over the Paladins at Nashville.

Mwenentanda's 16 points paced Vanderbilt (2-0). Mikayla Blakes added 15 points, and Justine Pissott had 13, hitting a team-high three 3-pointers. Aubrey Galvan amassed 11 points, eight assists and seven rebounds.

Alyssa Ervin drained four treys and scored 16 points for Furman (1-2). Raina McGowens added 10 points.

No. 25 Washington 87, Montana 56

Sayvia Sellers scored 19 points for the Huskies, who pulled away with an 11-0 second-period run and went on to beat the Lady Griz at Seattle.

Washington (2-0) led 25-13 before Brynn McGaughy scored seven points in the pull-away surge. The Huskies led 42-19 at halftime, and the margin never fell below 20 points in the second half. Yulia Grabovskaia produced 14 points and eight rebounds for Washington, and McGaughy finished with 12 points.

Montana (1-2) received 14 points from Avery Waddington, 11 from Mack Konig and 10 from Jocelyn Land. Montana shot just 29% from the floor, while Washington hit 45.9% of its field-goal attempts
