Horrendously Sucky Reds Fire Bryan Price After 3-15 Start
credits: Aaron Doster | source: AP The Cincinnati Reds and Kansas City Royals have each won three games this season. Royals manager Ned Yost earned some slack since he’s three years removed from winning the World Series. Reds manager Bryan Price ... said the word “fuck” 77 times after losing a game in 2015. The team fired him today.
Price had a 279-387 record over five seasons managing the Reds. In his place will be Jim Riggleman, best known for walking out on the Nationals after they didn’t give him a contract extension:
That Cincinnati’s pitching holds an NL-worst 5.42 ERA likely contributed to Price’s firing, as well as the team’s general suckiness. Even if Joey Votto’s still outstanding at baseball as well as at owning idiot Deadspin writers, the rest of the team is rough. This rebuild’s been going on for a few seasons now with no sign of hope. The Reds seem to have no desire to call up top prospect and third baseman Nick Senzel, and 18-year-old pitcher Hunter Greene still has a long way to go. The Reds should be taking advantage of Votto’s extended prime, but instead they’re firing their manager in the middle of April. What a waste.
