This Is Maybe But Probably Not Tom Brady Secretly Calling In To A Radio Show

Boston radio show Toucher and Rich received an interesting call from a listener on Wednesday’s program. “Matt” from “San Diego” had a bone to pick with the radio hosts.

Before you read this, note that Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is originally from San Mateo, Calif. and has a lot of time on his hands with his four-game suspension. Here’s a partial transcript of Matt’s lighthearted complaint:

I’m originally from San Diego. I’ve been here over 20 years, so I consider myself a true New England fan and resident, but I just want to say I’ve been listening to you guys bust on Tom Brady and Julian Edelman, and it’s absolutely hilarious. But it occurs to me that being true New England guys, you have to have something to complain about. So, you got three GOATs on the same team: Belichick, Brady, and Gronk. You got the Red Sox in first place. So, all that leaves you to go to is the fact that the man’s the greatest of all time, he’s got a good relationship with his receiver, and his wife’s Gisele Bundchen. I just think it’s very indicative of New England sports fans.

The hosts got Matt to laugh when they joked that “it’s just a odd thing that there’s a professional athlete who wants to wear the skin of one of his teammates,” referring to receiver Julian Edelman’s emulation of Brady.

The case for the caller being Brady is that Matt most sounds like him at the beginning of the call and when he laughs. Maybe Brady is disguising his voice with a bad accent for the rest of the call. The case against is that there’s no reason for Tom Brady to call into a radio show, put together a sloppy alias, dub himself the greatest of all time, and brag about his wife. Also, it doesn’t really sound like him. But then, Randy Moss probably did exactly this once upon a time.
